MI - Mineral Insulated Strip Heaters from Watlow
Get a Quote HERE! from Sords Electric
The MI strip heater is a thin, responsive heater that uses the most advanced heater construction techniques. A nickel-chromium element wire is embedded in Watlow’s exclusive mineral insulation material, which has a much higher thermal conductivity than the mica and hard ceramic insulators used in conventional heaters. This thin layer of insulation brings the element wire closer to the heater sheath. The result is heat flows easily from the element wire to the sheath allowing the wire to run cooler than conventional heaters and increasing heater life.
Higher watt densities than any other strip heater for faster heat-up
Exclusive mineral insulation combines dielectric strength and superior thermal conductivity
304 stainless steel sheath maintains the high compaction of mineral insulation
UL® component recognition for most 240VAC or less designs
480VAC maximum voltage
Rapid ship Part Numbers are:
MS1J8AS3 - 240 VOLT 500 WATT
MS1J12AV2 - 120 VOLT 350 WATT

Strip Heaters with Offset Terminals
Sords Electric supplies Strip Heaters
Component heaters (Strip, Ring, Band, Cartridge) by themselves meet many heating needs. They can also be integrated into more complex heating systems to provide a complete thermal solution for your heating requirements. Shape and size most often are the determining factor in most heater applications.
Strip heaters are used for heat transfer by conduction or convection to heat liquids, air, gases and surfaces.

Applications:
- Food warming
- Freeze and moisture protection
- Tank and platen heating
- Packaging
- Dies and mold heating
- Autoclaves
- Ovens
- Telecom
High Quality, Coiled Alloy Resistor Wire is uniformly spaced over the width and length of the strip heater to assure even heat distribution.
Resistor Wire is Embedded in specially formulated, high-grade refractory mate- rial which both insulates the resistor and transfers heat rapidly to the sheath.
Refractory is then Compressed to Rock- Hardness and high density under tremen- dous hydraulic pressure to maximize heat transfer from coil to sheath. Elements are oven cured at high temperatures to semi- vitrify and mature the refractory.
Maximum Heat Transfer, from the instant the element is first energized, is provided by the high emissivity black oxide finish. El- ements with shiny surfaces do not transfer heat as well.
Strip Heaters can have parallel terminals, one terminal at each end and offset terminals, the most common.
Housings can be purchased for the terminals as an options.
